This 3-part single is a bit like an inkblot; there are multiple angles of interpretation, and we don’t want to be too prescriptive about its meaning.

In the early stages, it was just one track, focused on escaping an unhealthy relationship. But as the song evolved, the meaning took new forms, and a larger narrative took hold focused on this country’s unhealthy racial relationships.

That’s also where the prelude, “Inter Change,” and the postlude, “Covindivisible” emerged. This year has been unprecedented and we want our music to address that.

While some of the sentiment of the main song, “Settled Image (The Reason),” is to run away, we have no intention of doing so. We aren’t running from the past, we’re running towards change.
